Robert S. Freelove, MD
Dr. Freelove became the program director on June 2, 2006. He joined Smoky Hill Family Medicine as Associate Director in 2003. Dr. Freelove graduated from the University of Kansas in 1996 and received his medical degree from KU in 2000. He completed his residency at Smoky Hill Family Medicine in 2003. In 2002, Dr. Freelove was awarded a Bristol-Myers-Squibb/AAFP award for excellence in GME, one of 20 given nationally. Dr. Freelove enjoys participating in golf, basketball, and racquetball. He is somewhat of a movie buff and has a passion for cooking. He has special interests in pediatrics and sports medicine.

Robert Kraft, MD
Dr. Kraft joined Smoky Hill Family Medicine as Associate Director in 2004. Dr. Kraft received a B.S. in Genetics from the University of Kansas and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Kansas City. He completed his residency at Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program. During medical school, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and also interned in a KUMC research lab studying the effects of low-dose dopamine on diaphragm function. Special interests include evidence-based medicine and resident education research. He particularly enjoys teaching obstetrical ultrasound skills.
Dr. Kraft grew up in Concordia, KS. He is happily married to Carmen San Martín,
and they are the proud parents of two of the cutest and most well-behaved children - Ben and Anna.
Dr. Kraft enjoys family time, traveling, reading and cheering on the beloved KU Jayhawks.
Dr. Kraft received the 2010 Kansas Academy of Family Physician (KAFP) Exemplary Teaching Award in the full-time category. The KAFP Exemplary Teacher Award recognizes family medicine faculty members in Kansas who have demonstrated exemplary teaching skills or have developed and implemented innovative new teaching models or programs. Medical students, residents and peers nominate the family physician teachers.

Scott Owings, MD
Dr. Owings joined Smoky Hill Family Medicine as Associate Director in 2005. His areas of medical interest and educational emphasis include sports medicine, ENT including nasopharngoscopy, dermatology, colonoscopy, and practice management. Dr. Owings has a particular interest in teaching hospital and office based procedures. He also has the pleasure of heading up our annual Smoky Hill Golf Tournament.
Dr. Owings received a B.S. from Pittsburg State University and his medical degree from KUSM-Wichita. As a medical student he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed residency at Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Owings is currently a member of STFM, AAFP, KAFP, AMA, Kansas Medical Society, and the Physician Advisory Board for Salina Regional Health Center.
Dr. Owings and his wife Melanie both from Maize, Kansas are blessed with three children. When they are not watching the Jayhawks they enjoy boating and skiing and spending time with the resident and faculty families. His hobbies include carpentry, fishing, hunting, and golf.

Charles Allred, MD
Charles Theodore Allred, M.D. graduated from KUSM - Wichita in 1978. He completed his residency program at Wesley Family Medicine Residency Program in 1981 and a one year fellowship at Wesley jointly through the Family Medicine and OB-GYN residency programs. He joined Smoky Hill Family Medicine as Associate Director in 1992 and eventually became the Program Director. He left the residency in 2006 to practice in the ER and discovered he missed teaching and returned in 2007 as Associate Director.
Dr. Allred is currently a member of STFM, AAFP, AMA, KAFP and is active on the KU selection committee interviewing possible medical school candidates.
Dr. Allred is happily married to Janda and they have three adult children that are all great. He enjoys riding his bicycle, reading and spending time with the resident & faculty families and staying in contact with past resident grads.

Kimberly Williams, MD
Dr. Kimberly Williams joined Smoky Hill Family Medicine in 2010. She received her BS in General Science from York College, in York, NE and her medical degree from KUSM‑Wichita. She and her husband, Caleb, then moved to Pennsylvania to be closer to Caleb's family. There she completed her Family Medicine Residency at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA where she served as chief resident. She also completed a one year Faculty Development Fellowship in Lancaster. Dr. Williams is excited to be back in Kansas. She enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine, but has special interests in women and children's health. Dr. Williams speaks some Spanish and hopes that she continues to become more fluent. Outside of medicine, she enjoys being active in her church, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She and Caleb have one son, Owen, and a beloved dog, Bria.
Dr. Long has joined the Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program as Associate Director in 2011. Dr. Long received a B.S. in Biology Sciences at Kansas State University in 1995 and received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Kansas City in May of 1999. She completed her residency training at the Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program in 2002. She has been practicing medicine in a rural community for the last 8 ½ years. Dr. Long enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine but has a special interest in women and children's health. Dr. Long is currently a member of AAFP, KAFP, AMA and the Saline County Medical Society.
Dr. Long grew up in Ellsworth, KS. She is happily married to Kenny Berndt and they are the proud parents of Isabella and Isaac. Dr. Long enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading and painting.
